Altered frame!!!!

Morning everybody, After a hot day, I had a proud moment last night when my DS Siddarth won the Academic Achievement Award at the school award night.  This is second consecutive year that he won the award. So I am a proud mother :) He also got a distinction in his guitar practical exams and 98% in his music theory. He also won a medal for his school dancing :) So, this year has been a good year for him. I can't be happier :)

I wanted to share a altered frame I made for the school for giving me the library to conduct craft class.
Here is the picture of the frame for you :)

 Here is the close up.

As you can see I love PTI's Larger than life stamp set and the coordinating die. Just gorgeous and so easy to work with. I hope the principal will like it :)

Not very long before I leave for my holiday. I have nearly packed and ready. I have so much luggage that I am not taking any of my craft stuff :(  I still have to weigh the luggages and I constantly put in and take away things from it. I will do that until I reach the check in counter I think!!!!!  Tell me, I am not the only one doing that lol!!!

Today is a nice day. Not very hot but gorgeous 31 degree celscius and I am going shopping to buy last minute gifts :) Off now. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day :)

Waltizingmouse challenge #17

Morning everybody,

Its Monday here for me and the day is hot, windy and sunny. The time is 9.45 AM now and the temperature is already 35 degree celscius! Tops redicted today to be 42 degree celscius!!!! I went out to take some photos of my card and gosh!!! it so bright that I could not open my eyes. I had to wear my sunglasses to take the photos. So the photo are not as good as it should be!

Anyway, here is the link to Waltzingmouse sketch challenge blog to see this week's sketch and if you want to play the challenge too :)

Here is my take on the sketch.

The bell is an image printed from the computer and die cut using Spellbinder label die and stamped with its compatible WMS stamp using SU's Elegant eggplant ink. The sentiment  and DSP are from PTI. Cardstock, brad and lace ribbon from SU. This card came together in 10 minutes last night. What a surprise!!!

Thanks for the lovely sketch. And have a lovely day. I am turning the A/C on now as my eyes are burning. I wish it rains and bring the temperature down but its not predicted on the weather forecast :(  I somehow have to get through this day well hydrated and in the evening there is a carol singing and awards nights at school on the school ground :( Hoping the temperature cools down by then!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamp a stack......

I am a big fan of stamp set with leaves and flowers. PTI recently released a set called Larger than Life with coordinatng die for the same. I love love that set. And I so wanted to use that set but since I got my parcel very late, I had lost mojo and was bummed looking at them!!!! So to bring back my mojo, I went through the countdown post on Nicole Heady's blog. Here is the link to the countdown post. I decided to CASE her Bouquet and Banner card trio cards.

Here is my version!

I stamped a set of four cards instead of three. I also used SU's Square Lattice embossing folder on the background instead of PTI's impression plate. Also I made my own double ended banner for the sentiment. Aren't they gorgeous? I love this set and the die. Its a must have set I should say.

Anyway, my mojo is back and I have lots of ideas going on my head as I write this post. Hope I make use of this weekend and get some DT projects as well as some gifts done :)

Thanks for stopping by! And have a nice day :)

Circular Christmas card!

Morning everybody,

I have a christmas card to share but its not the regular rectangular card.
I had a go at Waltzingmouse sketch for the first time to make this card.

I wanted to use soft colors. Not my kind of color combo but I love it. Maybe I should use more of these colors. Here is the link to WMS sketch challenge blog, if you like to participate in their sketch challenge :)

This is my first time with WMS sketch challenge and I love their sketches.

Thank You Gift Hamper!

OK, finally I have put together the gift hampers for the teachers. I thought I will get it covered by clear plastic paper but I just could not get hold of them in my town!Grrrr!!! Instead I have opaque metallic silver wrapping paper. So I took a picture of the hampers before I wrap it. Here are the hampers

Hamper #1

This hamper is for my DD Aditi's class teacher. There is a recipe box,a pen, a set of Christmas cards, coordinating tags, and a CD 2011 calendar.
Hamper #2

This one is for my DS Siddarth's class teacher. This hamper also contains the same things but just the colors are different.
Here are both the gift hampers.

And here are the thank you cards for the teacher.

Kids will write their thank you speech inside and we as parents will have a printed one stuck inside too.
what a relief! I have completed it and all ready to go....
Now I have to pack a few more cards and tags for the librarians who kindly let me use the library for my craft class. I did not want to have a very long post, so I have schedule another post for today sharing another set of Christmas tags and cards for the librarians :)  So please do visit after couple of hours again :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Organizing smaller dies

I have been thinking a lot about organizing my smaller dies mainly PTI and Spellbinders Nesties. When I was digging a box in the garage, I found a new photo album. I decided to use it and some of my scrap papers and magnet tape to organize the dies. Here are the pictures.

My dies were in a box previously and was so hard to go through and pick what I wanted! Now its all so handy inside a photo album. Very easy to look through and take what I want. There are heaps of space left for new dies :) Similarly, I have my embossing folders and larger dies in A5 folder.

Go for a smaller photo album as the album expands when you put in the dies. I used my 100 pocket album and it is bulky when the cardstock, magnet tape and the dies are added!
Tomorrow I will share my two completed gift hampers for my kid's teachers. Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great weekend:)

Recipe Box #2

I could not do a second post as promised. Life took over by midday until last evening :(  Its Saturday morning and its only now I was able find time to write up this post. DH and kids are sleeping in. They got to sleep in on a weekend after a very very long time.
Anyway, here is the second recipe box. This is for my DS Siddarth's teacher.

Oops! I forgot to take picture of the recipe cards. I will edit and include it today. This is one of the gift in the hamper. I am hoping to put together the hamper today.

I had a hair cut yesterday after a very very long time. My hair had grown too long and was getting difficult to manage especially in the summer. So I decided to chop it down to medium length to be able to manage is easily. Here is how I look today :)
Warning: No make photos coming up! So please don't get scared lol!

Wish my hair will remain the same everyday! The hairdresser was nice. She taught me how to use the large round brush and blow dry. So I am hoping I will give my hair some extra attention it deserves :)

Thanks for stopping by

Recipe Box #1

Morning everybody,

I have made a recipe box as one of the gift in the Thank You hamper for my DD Aditi's class teacher. She has worked really hard and lost more than 60 kgs this year and looks fit and fabulous. She goes to gym and does dieting as well. So I decided to give her a recipe box with a few of my vegetarian recipes in them and a few black cards. Here is finished box for you.

I have combined PTI's pattern paper, recipe cards and egg box with SU stamp set to make it. The flower stamp set on the recipe cards and the "Recipes" label on the top of the box is from Waltingmouse stamps. So easy to make. One Soap opera on TV is enough to finish two boxes. I had "Days of our Lives" on TV and completed two boxes. You don't have to concentrate on those soap operas to know whats happening, you know!. Nothing actually happens in an episode lol! I actually don't follow them but I like them running on the background while I work... lol!

Will have a second post today with the other box. My camera battery ran out half way through the photo shoot.... lol!  Its hot and humid today. Hoping rain will come. Got to go now. Need to do some paper work and start packing :)

Have a great day!

Luv!
Gayatri ( lost my siggy!!!!)
